WriteType
WriteType is Free Software available under the GPL. It has only undergone small-scale field testing so far, and should therefore be considered beta. You can download the .deb package, the Python package (built daily from the bzr branch), or checkout the code from my bzr branch. There is also a windows build (currently r53) which can be run by extracting the zip and running bin/writetype.exe. Bugs and feature requests can be added to the tracker on the WriteType Launchpad page. For privacy aficionados, please note that WriteType, by default, sends data back to me so that I may analyze it to improve WriteType for everybody. If you do not want to assist in WriteType's development, you may disable this option in the Settings menu. |
WriteType is an application designed specifically for students who have difficulty typing. As you type, WriteType will offer suggestions for words. It also has TTS (text-to-speech) abilities to read text back to the author.
