Seniors at Chaska High School have the opportunity to make their senior year OUTSTANDING.
The Senior Project is an opportunity for any Chaska High School senior who is in good standing in terms of academics and behavior. Seniors can create a project that has meaning and depth, that challenges them and is of interest to them. There are four categories of projects: creative, academic, career and service. Seniors choosing to participate in the Senior Project will follow a ten-step process in their 8th period class, under the guidance of their 8th period teacher and a community mentor. Seniors will be released the last two weeks of school to devote their efforts full time to completing the project. A Senior Exhibition just before graduation will celebrate the accomplishments of the projects.
The Senior Project option will be explained to seniors in the first 8th period of the school year. Seniors will then have the option of “registering” for the Senior Project. They will be placed into a Senior Project section of 8th period with a Senior Project advisor.
